Q & A Sunday

Posted on February 18, 2009

This past Sunday, our preaching team at Highview did something fairly innovative during the services at all six campuses.  Over the past six weeks, we have been trekking through a series called “Take the Dare,” which is basically a primer on what we feel are four of the most pressing issues facing our people: marriage, parenting, morals, and money.  During the series, we collected a number of questions via text messaging, the series website, and write-in cards at the Saturday Night “Up Close” service.  Finally, during our preaching meeting last Wednesday afternoon, we took those questions and hammered out some answers with all of the best discernment and biblical support we could muster.  Then, Sunday we spent the entire preaching time wading through questions such as:

  • What do you do if you don’t “feel” love for your husband/wife anymore?
  • What do you do if your wife won’t submit to your leadership?
  • What can a wife do if her husband won’t lead?
  • What can or should you do for an adult child who is in rebellion?
  • Should a Christian couple ever consider entering into a prenuptial agreement?

We had an incredible response from our people, and an amazing team of seasoned, wise staff members tackling these issues – Dr. Kevin Ezell, Dr. Russell Moore, Corey Abney, Nick Moore, Dr. Doug & Virginia Walker, and others. You can watch the videos from Fegenbush & East Campus here.
