joy prom 2009

This Saturday, April 25th, Highview will be hosting our 3rd Annual “Joy Prom” for young people with Down Syndrome.  I have to admit that this is one of my personal favorite events of the year. This year, we will have between 80-100 young adults at our East Campus for a first-rate prom experience including red carpet, professional photography, catered food, a personal appearance by the Chick-Fil-A cow, and just an all-around great time.  What I love most about Joy Prom is that everything that takes place is done 100% by Highview families (parents & their teenagers), thus giving them an incredible opportunity to serve alongside each other while impacting our community for Jesus.  If you are interested in helping, please email Judy Buck at p.buck08@yahoo.com.  The event will take place from 6-9pm, and there are opportunities to help at 3:30pm @ Down Syndrome of Louisville (makeup, hair, shoe shines, etc) and 5:30pm @ East Campus (greet, serve food, clean up, etc).  Hope to see you there!
